This is a running audio stream set to a scanner on the Berkeley police radio frequencies. If you see the 'time' indicator in Realplayer go up, but don't hear anything, it's probably working. Wait awhile. Sometimes it takes some time to download the stream. If you see a message 'connecting' you're probably okay.
I recently upgraded the radio for this to a new Radio Shack police scanner, which receives the channel with much less noise.
4/13/2002 I also fixed a bug with how your browser links to the police audio stream. So, this should now be much more reliable when run from Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player.
